MAKE MONEY PRINTING RECHARGE CARDS /VOUCHERS (ALL NETWORKS)ON YOUR OWN BY: AKPOTU G.O
Recharge cards printing is a legal business in Nigeria. This is because all the network operators in the country have approved and licensed agent who do the printing to enable them concentrate on other things. The business is open to whoever is interested. You can start big or small depending on what you have or what you intend to put into the business for a start. This business can be started with as low as N10, 000. .However, while a low capital can only print the vouchers; you require a fairly large capital to print recharge cards inclusive. Recharge cards are those hard paper cards requiring you to scratch the specially sealed numbers before recharge while the vouchers are the soft paper types where the PIN numbers are left open. And usually carry the name of the agent e .g . “GODAK INTERNATIONAL COMPANY.” They could be colored including the network logo or printed in black and white wholly. The hard paper types are printed by the accredited dealers on being supplied with PIN numbers only. It should be noted that just like the cards, any denomination can be printed on the voucher i.e. N100 to N1500 or even more. They are all same.

Figure II : RECHARGE VOUCHER
RECHARGE CARDS PRINTING
Recharge cards printing can be done in any of three ways.
(1) Through direct dealing with the network operators. This is the method of choice for those who have the cash and want to start big.
(2) Dealing with the network operators’ approved recharge card dealers. This is the method recommended for those who do not have enough cash and want to start small.
(3)Buying and selling through the Everlasting E-pay Point of Sale (POS) Machine although this may not be a good way of printing recharge cards in bulk for sale.
These three methods will now be discoursed in details.
DIRECT DEALING WITH THE NETWORK OPERATORS:
To be a recharge card merchant or a distributor for the network operators requires big capital investment. For a better result, one would need to register with the respective network operators in the country i.e.MTNGLO,AIRTEL,ETISALAT,VISAFONE,STARCOMMS,MULTILINK,etc. It is not likely that any operator would require less than half a million Naira as a sign on fees. This is not to say that the huge investment will not generate a commensurate profit if it can be afforded. To get started, visit the nearest operator customer care centre to you for proper guidance or better, visit the head office of the network operator. Effort had been made in this manual to give the address/locations of some of these customer care centre within the country (see attachment1)
DEALING WITH THE APPROVED/LICENSED DEALERS BY THE OPERATORS
This is the preferred option for those who do not have enough capital but wish to start the business. To get started contact any of the approved/licensed dealers preferably in your area .Call or visit the respective customer care shop close to you or visit their head office direct for briefing on their current list of licensed dealers particularly those that are close to you. Closeness has its own advantages although may not be a big issue as transactions are made online. To be on a safer side it is better to get the list of currently licensed and active dealers from the respective operators as any other list might have its flaws. All the same, efforts have been made to provide a list of Recharge cards dealers within the country. At best, this list is only for the purpose of information and can not replace a necessary personal contact before any monetary exchange can take place whether online or otherwise. The list is in three categories.
(1)Those listed in the website(s) of the operator(s)
(2) Those with telephone numbers
(3)Others.
If contacting the network providers through their customer care shop or visiting their head office is not ideal for you then start your search for a dealer in the order above. Make phone calls where possible.
NOTE: WE DO NOT KNOW THESE DEALERS MORE THAN IN PAPER.THE LIST IS ONLY A GUIDE ON HOW TO GET A DEALER.MAKE YOUR PERSONAL CONTACT BEFORE PAYING MONEY. (See attachment 2 for Recharge cards Dealers)
WHAT YOU NEED TO PRINT RECHARGE CARDS (For 1 and 2)
(1) Computer
(2) Printer (color or black and white)
(3) Software
(4) At least N10,000Start up capital
(5) Bulk Pins either from network providers or from an approved dealer by the network providers.
(6) Internet connection
(7) E-mail address
(8) Papers
COMPUTER: This can be colored or black and white. For a start it is not compulsory as you can make use of that of a business center till you have your own. Any computer i.e. desktop, laptop or notebook is suitable.
PRINTER : Any printer DeskJet LaserJet Again the printer is not compulsory as one can start with a café. The printer is used to print the cards with the aid of the software.
SOFTWARE Any recharge cards printing software is good. Software is compulsory for the printing. .Usually, the chosen dealer helps with the software. Some dealers give it to you free of charge while some would collect a fee. Some will tell you where to download it free or otherwise, the important thing is that the dealer may direct you on how to get the software. Some like Prepaid Nigeria (No more online) would place it on their website for free download, you can however make a search for recharge cards printing software on Google. To get a link for a possible free download or at a small fee.
PAPER : This is compulsory as it is used in printing out the recharge cards.
N10,000 This cash is compulsory . It is the start up capital.
BULK PINS: This is what you are selling It is compulsory.
INTERNET CONNECTION This is only necessary when you are using your own computer.
E-MAIL ADDRESS; This is used to receive the pins from the dealer. It is compulsory.
HOW MUCH CAN YOU MAKE FROM THE BUSINESS?
MARKETING! MARKETING!! MARKETING!!! What you make from the business depend on your marketing prowl, with good marketing the sky is your limit in this business. Recharge cards printing, like any other branch of the telecommunication industry is a very lucrative business. Although the profit margins are low, it is a quick turn over business.
Mexican Billionaire Carlos Slim, World's Richest Man |has more than half of his $74 billion net worth in one telecom asset, Back home in Nigeria, Mike Adenuga, the second richest man is also a major player in the telecommunication industry All these point to the fact that if you want to be rich, then telecommunication business is a good one to start on. From recharge cards printing (as an insider now,) you begin to see the industry as a whole. Even if you do not start building towers immediately there are areas of expansion such as Mobile marketing pivoted on BULK SMS and SHORT CODE business, Sale of telecommunication accessories and mobile banking (the CBN just provided license for those who will provide this service whereby money will be exchanged for product.) Others include the provision of m-money for mobiles just as e-currency is used in the internet world. Gradually you continue to build up until you begin to build towers. The journey of a thousand mile begins with a step. You may be the next to join the Forbes’ List
GET STARTED:
(1) Decide on the dealer to use.
(2) Open an e-mail account to be used in the transaction especially to receive your PINS from your dealer.
(3) Register formally with your dealer. Make sure you complete all the necessary formalities.
(4) Discuss and be directed by your chosen dealer on how to get the printing Software. Many dealers give it out free of charge for download on their website although some would want you to pay a token for it. It is better to chose dealers who would provide the software free of charge rather than sourcing for it on your own.
(5) Learn how to use the software for printing recharge cards. Although the software are usually user friendly and come with explicit manuals, your chosen dealer should organize a practical lesson for you on the use of the software online or otherwise
(6) Order for your PINS from your dealer.
(7) Print your recharge cards with the software. Your recharge cards can be printed in black and white or colored depending on your type of printer. Using the features of the software you could print the name of your company on the cards.
The recharge voucher business is filled with opportunities at every level depending on ones financial strength. Surveys have shown that recharge card is the third selling product after pure water and bread.
